Pedal Another Mile

Bicycling, death, life after death.

..and on we go.

First off - still no go on the poop front.  An x-ray this morning shows no evidence of a bowel obstruction.  This is good news.  The CT-scan of where her back surgery was shows nothing out of the ordinary.  This is good news.  The bad news is no one is quite sure why the pain is still bad and why she cannot go to the bathroom. Yesterday, even with all the painkillers, her pain level was 8+ on a 0-10 scale.  All day.  Today was hovering around 6.  Her palliative care doctor is making a few changes and trying yet another medication to get things moving.  At this point she's sure the back pain is being at least partially caused by the backing up of all the poop.

I left the hospital today at about 1:00pm to go home and do laundry.  We are both dangerously low on underwear!  I'm also going to sleep at home tonight and go back in the morning.  Shadow (our cat) is thrilled to have the company.  Wrigley may never want to come back home.  She's been staying with Lena and her family, and it doesn't appear that she's in any rush to come home, based on the pics I've been sent.

That's about it for today.  At least it wasn't another downhill trip like yesterday was.
