Middle of Nowhere Syndrome
It appears that at a very minimum the first half of the week I may be cut off from the world. Western Iowa is a dead zone when it comes to cellular coverage, especially of the data variety. Even if they aren't normally dead zones (which they are), putting an extra 10,000 people in a small town with a population of a few thousand will wreak havoc on the towers.
The past few years, Iowa Telecom (now part of Windstream) has provided free access from a mobile trailer, and it appears the same will happen this year. Hopefully there's ample wi-fi.
