Billy Jo, bile, and biking
I'm too tired to think of a title so 'Insert Title Here' will have to do.
Billy Jo slept until about 12:30 today, woke up, showered, and puked up some bile. Then she tried a bite of her favorite potato soup from Panera and felt bloated and icky. Other than that she's been "ok". The massage therapist from hospice came out today and helped her out a bit. Tomorrow afternoon, Erin the social worker comes out.
While there were visitors here I took advantage of this great weather and went for a bike ride. I started out on the I&M trail but instead of taking it back I took the roads that the Joliet Bike Club rides out of Channahon take. On purpose. It was time to murder my legs. Taking the road back meant going by Dollinger's Farm and Cemetery Hill. Cemetery Hill is, pardon my french, a real motherfucker...probably the steepest hill around. It was my first attempt of 2012 and I made it. Sure, my heart rate almost hit 200, but dammit I did it.
It's an average 6.5% grade but there's a bit at the second part that, well, eats balls.
Here's a GoPro of me greeting the hill, and going up it.
Felt good to get back on the bike for a ride. It was my first one in 12 days due to a combination of Billy's downturn and shitty (wet or too windy) weather.
Edited to add: I almost forgot - I've spent about three hours today on the memorial slideshow so far. It's been therapeutic. Not even close to finished yet, though.
