Pedal Another Mile

Bicycling, death, life after death.

Late post

I had a good day - nice 30 mile recovery ride this morning, a nap, and a nice evening with Billy Jo's cousin Dean and his wife Lorri. We talked at great length about Billy Jo and it was good, not sad. Another step forward.

Tomorrow is laundry, and I plan on doing several hours of work - no bike ride. Yes, I am on FMLA, but I feel I owe it to my job to work during this period. They were there for me during my time as caretaker for Billy Jo, so I intend on helping out during my time down here.

My massage is scheduled for Friday at 1:30. Bring it.

I found a beach chair I had on my Amazon wish list on clearance at Dick's Sporting Goods today for 50% less. Score!  My plans for the coming weeks is to spend some beach time and start writing content for the book again.

Reflect, recover, repair.

And of course, ride that bike.

Here's today's ride info for those that care. I was really trying to keep it an easy ride, but I got caught up in an impromptu paceline with a couple other guys so I  had to hammer for a little bit to take advantage of the the draft, and pay back the favor.

I'm making sure there's no ride tomorrow, as I'm fresh out of clean bike clothes. If I weren't - I couldn't rule it out :). Aside from having to "re-season" my sit bones, which will take about 500 miles, I am hooked again. How the hell am I going to go back to riding in Illinois? The way I feel right now, I will exceed 2012's mileage before I get back home. I'm fine with that - the more I ride now, the easier RAGBRAI will be.
