Pedal Another Mile

Bicycling, death, life after death.

Good news- I made it to my friend's house north of Atlanta.

Bad news- the drive itself sucked. I missed Billy Jo every one of the 710 miles. Songs reminded me of her, my back hurting while driving and her not there to rub it sucked, she was my navigator, and on and on.

I didn't think it was going to be this hard. It didn't help that I didn't see the sun until 30 minutes before I arrived here.

We made this road trip four times together (I think- maybe it was three). I enjoyed none of the drive today. Not even the Tennessee mountains, when I previously got giddy when I would see them in the distance.

I also woke up after only 4-5 hours of sleep so add a 10 hour drive alone on top of that and it's no wonder I'm in a bad mood.

My friend has to take his pup to the vet and will be gone an hour so I'm going to nap. Hopefully I wake up in a better mood.

I hope the rest of the drive is better. I'm not counting on it... I can't point out that first palm tree in South Georgia in a strip mall lot to her like I always did.
