Meet Billy Jo, Pt. 2

Quick mid-afternoon update - no change. She looks like she's taking a nap. No downturn at all. Now that that is out of the way, here's more about Billy Jo before this all started.

As I mentioned a few posts ago, Billy Jo was a 911 dispatcher. In 2011 she was selected as the Illinois APCO (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) Telecommunicator of the Year. As a result she got to attend their annual conference and was featured during their gala dinner. She was nominated by her peers and superiors and was selected before any news of her cancer advancing to the point of chemo had been announced.

The other day I thought I'd try and track down the video they played to the room before inviting her to the stage. John at IL APCO was able to assist me, and he put it up on YouTube. I'm not certain, but I believe this video was taken after chemo had already began. If not, it was only a week or two before her first session.

I especially like what she said beginning at 3:08. Billy Jo - it's time to check on yourself. We are going to be ok - I promise.

Here's a few pics from the event in October 2011, {obviously} after chemo had begun:
